Exchange
Move a document between firm and client — and sign it without leaving.
Inside the internal tools, Document Exchange handled the flow of documents between Intuit’s agents and their clients, with an e-signature capability built on DocuSign for Salesforce folded directly in. The craft was in a signing flow that felt trustworthy at every step.
2d overdue
Documents move between two parties who don’t share a screen.
An agent inside the platform and a client outside it need to pass documents back and forth — and, often, sign them. That’s two audiences at once: the expert agent who lives in the internal tool, and the client who touches it briefly and needs it to feel obvious and safe. The e-signature step is where trust is won or lost.
Dense, efficient, part of the operations workflow.
Brief, clear, trustworthy — a customer-facing widget, not a platform.
View the document. Affix the signature. Done.
Built on DocuSign for Salesforce, the signing experience kept the document front and center — read it, then place a signature on it in the same view, without a jarring hand-off to a separate tool.
The document never leaves the frame.
The signer views the actual document in the flow — no download-print-scan detour — so the thing being signed is always the thing on screen.
A clear, deliberate act.
Placing the signature is its own explicit step — legible and confirmable, so signing feels intentional rather than incidental. That deliberateness is what makes an e-signature feel as trustworthy as a wet one.
For the client, dead simple was the whole point.
The other half of the exchange is the customer-facing portal — where a client who touches this briefly sees exactly what’s being asked of them and nothing else. A plain list of requested documents, a company selector, an upload, and an unambiguous confirmation.
A checklist, not a platform.
The client sees a scrollable list of exactly the documents requested, scoped to their company, each with a single upload action. No account to learn, no navigation to get lost in — the widget does one job and makes it obvious.
Green check, no doubt.
An explicit “Upload Successful” confirmation and a completed row leave no question about whether the document went through — the reassurance a brief-visit user needs before they close the tab.
One feature, two audiences, native to the system.
Document Exchange had to serve the expert agent and the brief-visit client at once, on top of DocuSign for Salesforce, inside Intuit’s established design language. Make it feel native — designed in, not bolted on.
